I chose this serie because is one of my favourites and this quote represents very good the show. In the series they send a group of 100 teenagers to earth when they have lived their entire lives in space. On earth, they find all kinds of things and they have to do what they can to survive. This is where the problems come from. This quote shows us how we can change depending on the situation. The characters are often at such an extreme point that they make decisions that don't seem right to everyone. Things are usually defined as "good" or "bad" and it is difficult to choose the good option, the "right" one and not the "bad" one. In the series we see how the decisions are voted by the majority or even for one's own good. So this, also tells us that sometimes we  have to look out for our own good. Because trying to survive, you may take desicions than you're not proud but that may have been necessary. In real life there isn't this level of survival but basically, the quote shows us that in these extreme situations, some of the decisions we make do not define us as a person, because there are many factors to take into account and in the end, we are the ones who choose the right option to do taking responsibility.
